Project LRN: Evanston Interviews
Our first project is a series of interviews with residents of Evanston, IL, which has a reputation within the Chicagoland area as being a diverse community with a varied ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural population. Within Evanston, increasing conversation and attention has been focused on what is described by some residents as “drive-by diversity” – the presence of difference and the appropriation of such as a point of pride for the community, without a true commitment to unifying residents across difference and utilizing diversity in productive and powerful ways.
